On 31 August, Claire Waxman, London’s first Victims Commissioner visited Safer London offices.
Welcomed by our Chief Executive, Claire Hubberstey, the Commissioner was provided with an overview of Safer London’s work as the leading London charity working to prevent and address gang violence, vulnerability and sexual exploitation. Presentations were also given on Safer London’s key programmes: Empower, London Gang Exit (LGE), Harmful Sexual Behaviour (HSB) and Pan London Domestic Violence (PLDV). In order to gain an understanding of the role of Safer London frontline services, the Commissioner also met with numerous staff including our Young People’s Advocates and Peer Advisors which was followed by an interactive Q & A session.
We look forward to working together with the Commissioner and her office – towards a world where all young people can thrive, free from exposure to gangs, sexual exploitation and crime.
