Sherry Peck - Chief Executive
Sherry joins Safer London’s high performing team having had extensive experience at a senior level in the commercial, statutory and charity sector, with over 25 years’ experience in the delivery, commissioning and management of services for children and young people. Her experience is wide ranging and includes work as a Director at The Children’s Society and Head of Commissioning in a number of Local Authorities. She is passionate about empowering and enabling young people and ensuring they are at the heart of developing solutions to live safe and successful lives. She has strong personal integrity, is creative and dedicated to ensuring Safer London develops sustainable meaningful partnerships across the sector.
Katie Michell - Director of Quality & Internal Resources
Katie is a qualified teacher but has worked primarily in the social care and voluntary sector. Before moving into corporate services and governance leadership Katie worked as an advocate for children in care or on the edge of care, specialising in supporting children who used alternative and augmentative communication or required non-instructed advocacy. Katie’s achievements in the voluntary sector include developing and managing advocacy services, managing services for disabled children and young people and young people affected by exploitation. Katie then went on to hold roles around operational management, business development and quality practice, taking a lead role in managing change. Most recently she has worked for The National Deaf Children’s Society where she was Deputy Director of Early Years and Family Engagement and was able to use her skills in BSL. Katie is passionate about ensuring young people are part of developing and strengthening services and that their voice is central to decision making. Katie is an approachable and creative colleague and enjoys working as part of a high performing team.
Jackie Bolton - Safeguarding and Quality Practice Director
Jacqueline is a qualified registered social worker and brings a professional social care perspective to all that she does. Before moving into the Third Sector in 2003 she had a successful 20 year career in Sales and Marketing holding senior positions within the Post Office Group. Jacquelines achievements in the voluntary sector include developing and managing a national award winning advocacy service for Gypsies and Travellers, managing children’s centres, working with young people and adults with learning disabilities and she has managed services for children affected by sexual abuse and exploitation as well as those affected by gangs and county lines. She is down to earth, can engage with a variety of stakeholders, is a good judge of character and recognises what good services should look like. Jackie is from a Romany Gypsy family and is one of only a handful of qualified social workers from the community. She is a volunteer for Hertfordshire Gypsy and Traveller Exchange, a small charity seeking to improve outcomes for Gypsies Roma and Travellers.
