We’re so grateful you’ve chosen to fundraise for Safer London. With help from amazing people like you, we can support more young Londoners and their families when they need it the most.

Make the most out of your fundraising by following the steps below.

Step 4

Decide what to do

Whether you want to take on a challenge, hold a cake sale, or organise a special event, there are endless ways to raise funds for us.

You can find lots of ideas and inspiration in our Fundraising Pack. The pack will help with planning and promoting your activities, provide inspiration and give support on collecting and returning your pounds and pennies – your free fundraising pack has it all!

Set up a fundraising page

Get your fundraising journey started by setting up a JustGiving page. You’re more likely to get sponsorship from people if you make it quick and easy for them to do. Personalise your page with a story, images or video and details of your fundraising which can then be easily shared with everyone you know.

Pages with a fundraising target raise on average 45% more than those without. Let your supporters know how much you’re aiming to raise – it may encourage them to give just that little bit more!

Spread the word

You’ve decided on what you’re doing, now it’s time to let everyone know it’s happening and how they can get involved! There’s lots of ways to spread the word, tell your friends, colleagues, classmates and family.

Share what you’re up to on social media. Facebook, X, Instagram and LinkedIn can all be used to promote your activity. We want to support you too so don’t forget to share the link to your JustGiving page and tag Safer London in your posts!

Say thank you

Saying thank you to your supporters is really important. You could update your fundraising page with a thank you message and photo, or email people who have supported you with your gratitude. Why not post on Instagram, X or LinkedIn to let people know how your fundraising went and the difference it will make to young Londoners?

You can also make a one off or regular monthly donation through our Just Giving page.

Important Information

There’s some really important things you need to know if you want to raise money for Safer London.

Fundraising posters

Posters are a great way to tell everyone about your event or challenge. We’ve included some posters in this pack that you can print off and use. If you’d rather make your own, that’s great – but please make sure you add the sentence below to your designs.

Safer London is a registered charity in England and Wales No. 1109444; and a company limited by guarantee No. 5190766.

Raffles

There are strict rules surrounding the running of raffles. If you are selling raffle tickets over a long period of time, you will need to notify us. These raffle tickets will need to be pre-printed.

Please contact us fundraisng@saferlondon.org.uk for more details on this.

If you’re selling and drawing tickets on the same day then the rules are more relaxed. You can run one of these raffles without a license where:

  • Tickets are only sold at the event
  • You do not spend more than £500 of the ticket sale income on prizes
  • The winners are drawn at the event or after it has finished

Health and Safety

You need to make sure that everyone taking part in your event stays safe. You’ll want to make sure that you know where the first aid kit is and who can help if someone gets hurt.

If you’re fundraising at school make sure to talk to your teacher about Health and Safety when you start planning your event.
