Welcome to Safer London’s media hub.
We understand the importance of working alongside media professionals when trying to raise awareness of the issues and challenges that young Londoners and their families affected by violence and exploitation experience.
On this page you will find details of our spokespeople, our areas of expertise, news and updates and details of how to contact our media team.
Young Londoners and families who use our services.
We do not provide access to young Londoners or their families that use Safer London services for reactive media requests.
It’s important to understand that the young Londoners and families we work with have experienced unthinkable trauma. As a safeguarding organisation our number one priority is the welfare of those we work alongside, ensuring they are not put in situations where they could be potentially retraumatised.
Below are members of the Safer London team who are available to comment on a range of topics relating to children and young people, and violence and exploitation.
Please make any request for an interview through the media team.
Sherry is regularly invited to speak on issues impacting on the lives of young Londoners and their families. Her understanding of the toxic environments in which children and young people are expected to thrive, and her extensive knowledge on the causal drivers of violence and exploitation make her an authoritative voice on the issues at hand. Sherry is deeply passionate about the safeguarding and welfare of children and young people, and strives to make sure their voices and experiences are heard and understood.
Sherry has done both print, digital and broadcast interviews with national outlets including the Guardian and the Times and been a contributor on podcasts including the critically acclaimed Please Protect Abraham.
She currently sits on a number of advisory panels and boards including the General Crime and the Rape and Serious Sexual Offences List scrutiny panel, the Hate Crime Partnership Board, and the London Adolescent Safeguarding Oversight Board, as well as sitting on several Multi-Agency Child Exploitation panels.
