Decide what to do

Whether you want to take on a challenge, hold a cake sale, or organise a special event, there are endless ways to raise funds for us.

You can find lots of ideas and inspiration in our Fundraising Pack. The pack will help with planning and promoting your activities, provide inspiration and give support on collecting and returning your pounds and pennies – your free fundraising pack has it all.

Set up an online fundraising page

The easiest way to collect donations is to set up an online fundraising page. You’re more likely to get sponsorship from people if you make it quick and easy for them to do. Set up a Just Giving page where Safer London is registered as a charity and every penny comes directly to us – including Gift Aid!

Setting up a donation page is free and simple. You can personalise your page with a story, images and details of your fundraising which can then be easily shared with everyone you know.

Visit http://www.justgiving.com/saferlondon to set up your fundraising page today.

Spread the word

You’ve decided on what you’re doing, now it’s time to let everyone know it’s happening and how they can get involved! There’s lots of ways to spread the word, tell your friends, colleagues, classmates and family. Put up notices around your local community and contact your local paper.

Share what you’re up to on social media. Facebook, Twitter and Instagram can all be used to promote your activity.

We want to help too! Let us know your plans at communications@saferlondon.org.uk  and we can support you.

Use our free resources

We want to make sure you have everything you need to make your fundraising a success! Our free resources include posters, certificates and bunting – all the materials you need to organise a fantastic fundraising event.

You can also make a one off or regular monthly donation through our Just Giving page.

Donate today

Whether you give monthly or make a one off donation, you will help make a huge difference to the lives of thousands of young Londoners, their families and communities.

If you’ve got any questions or want to talk to us about your ideas and how we can help, get in touch at fundraising@saferlondon.org.uk.

Important Information

There’s some really important things you need to know if you want to raise money for Safer London.

Fundraising posters

Posters are a great way to tell everyone about your event or challenge. We’ve included some posters in this pack that you can print off and use. If you’d rather make your own, that’s great – but please make sure you add the sentence below to your designs.

Safer London is a registered charity in England and Wales No. 1109444; and a company limited by guarantee No. 5190766.

Raffles

There are strict rules surrounding the running of raffles. If you are selling raffle tickets over a long period of time, you will need to notify us. These raffle tickets will need to be pre-printed.

Please contact us fundraisng@saferlondon.org.uk for more details on this.

If you’re selling and drawing tickets on the same day then the rules are more relaxed. You can run one of these raffles without a license where:

  • Tickets are only sold at the event
  • You do not spend more than £500 of the ticket sale income on prizes
  • The winners are drawn at the event or after it has finished

Health and Safety

You need to make sure that everyone taking part in your event stays safe. You’ll want to make sure that you know where the first aid kit is and who can help if someone gets hurt.

If you’re fundraising at school make sure to talk to your teacher about Health and Safety when you start planning your event.
