Who we are

Supporting young Londoners to move from harm to hope.

At Safer London, we work alongside young Londoners and families caught in cycles of violence, exploitation and trauma.

We offer real, lasting change. By working closely with young people, their families and the systems around them - including schools, social care, police, housing and other services - we help transform fear into trust, chaos into stability and risk into opportunity.

We're a charity that supports children, young people and families whose lives have already been impacted by harm. We work alongside young people who’ve faced serious harm, including criminal exploitation (including County Lines), violence in their communities, sexual exploitation, sexual violence and peer‑to‑peer harm.

We work directly in the community, meeting young Londoners in places where they feel safe and comfortable. Our role is to increase safety, reduce risk and build stability in their lives. We also work one‑to‑one with parents and carers, recognising the crucial role they play in creating safety and supporting them to navigate the challenges they face.

What guides us

We create safety and hope

Safety is the starting point for everything we do. We stay alongside young Londoners for as long as they need us, helping them move from crisis to stability and from harm to hope.

We’re bold in advocating for change

We use our insight and experience to influence the systems around young people. Too often children and young people caught in cycles of harm and violence are met with punitive responses rather than care. We speak up for approaches that prioritise understanding, safety and support.

We innovate to meet emerging needs

Young Londoners’ lives are changing and so are the pressures and challenges they face. We research, test and develop new approaches, making sure our support remains relevant, effective and rooted in what young people tell us they need.

We centre youth voice

Young people are the experts in their own lives. Their experiences, insights and ideas shape our work, guide how we design and develop services and help us to influence the wider systems we seek to change. We make sure their voices are heard and acted on at every level.
