Parents and carers accessing Safer London services and support
Welcome to Safer London!
Our job is to work alongside you and understand what you need, so we can work together to find ways so you can be safe and stay safe.
Your worker will be there to listen and support you through whatever you're dealing with. They will work with you on topics such as safety awareness, emotional wellbeing, coping strategies, family dynamics and healthy relationships.
We are not Social Care or the police, but we do work closely with them when we have to.
How we work with you
We know that’s not possible without listening to what you want. We work closely with you every step of the way, making sure you are comfortable and can share your thoughts in a space that is safe. We know that it takes time to get to know someone and trust them. Your worker will be there for you whenever you are ready. They are patient and will take the time to get to know you.
We don’t force anyone to work with us.
In your first session your worker will ask you to sign a form agreeing to our services and support. Your worker will talk you through this form and make sure you are happy before signing it. If you’re worried about anything, chat to your worker – they are more than happy to answer any questions you may have!
What the support looks like
Your worker will try to meet you once a week at a time and a place that works for you. Together you set out what you want to work on.
You’ll meet in a place where you feel safe and comfortable. We can also meet virtually or online if that works better for you.
Our support worker was more than helpful if it wasn’t for her I don’t know what we would have done. She literally saved us. In the future any one she does work with will be lucky to have her as support.
Let us know how we’re doing!
Your voice matters to us. We want to know how we’re doing – whether we’re doing good or bad.
Leave us feedback
You can leave us feedback at any point during your Safer London journey. Fill in the online form at any time or speak to your worker who can give you a paper form.
Make a complaint
Have we done something to make you unhappy?
Its important to us to know when we’re getting it right. If you’re unhappy with the support you’ve received and would like to make a complaint, please contact the team at complaints@saferlondon.org.uk.
We value your honesty as it helps us to improve and make sure that we are providing the best support possible. Once we receive a complaint we:
- listen to you and take you seriously
- work with you to find a way to make things right
- tell you what you can do if you are not happy with how we have dealt with your complaint
- learn from what you have told us so that we can make our services better.
You can find our full feedback and complaints policy here.

My biggest problem was my lack of communication skills and with my Safer London caseworker’s help I’ve massively overcome that. They’ve helped to build a better relationship with not only my daughter but also my other children...slowly breaking some generational curse.
