Safer London young champion VIPs

The Safer London young champion VIPs are a group of young Londoners who have previously been supported by our services.

Many have lived through different forms of harm - including criminal exploitation, sexual violence, violence in the community and other traumatic experiences.

The VIP programme creates safe, supported spaces where young people can share what they know, reflect on their experiences and help shape how we work.

Participation is always voluntary, carefully safeguarded and rooted in the same care and consistency that underpins our one-to-one support. Importantly, it's also a space for growth, friendship and fun.

The VIPs get involved in a wide range of activities - from helping shape services and contributing to events, to informing creative projects and taking part in consultations that influence decision‑making. Every opportunity is designed to be meaningful - never tokenistic - so young people can take part in ways that feel safe, supported and right for them.

Their insight does far more than strengthen our work internally. By bringing their lived experience into conversations about policy, practice and service design, the VIPs help influence the wider systems and services that affect young people across London and beyond.

Anderson, Safer London VIP

I feel a sense of connection. It's comforting to realise that I'm not alone in facing the struggles I have and that others share similar challenges
